Having a good night out doesn’t have to be expensive. Below are 10 low cost, inexpensive (some are even free) night out ideas you can do with friends:
1. Stargaze
If you have a binocular or a camera that you can manually set (usually SLR or mirrorless), you can also do astrophotography instead of just stargazing. If you don’t have a camera and want to buy the basic one for astrophotography, Sony A6000 may be a good start as it’s affordable and produces great quality pictures.
2. Free Concert
If you are in Australia, UK or the USA, you can use Weekend Notes. Otherwise, just use your favourite search engine to find free concerts in your town.
3. Night Market
Night markets are usually full of food trucks that are relatively new and offer great food at an affordable price.
4. Festival
Some festivals open until midnight and many of them are free. Go and have fun.
5. Happy Hour Bar
Some bars have their happy hours extended to 10 pm. Use your search engine to check them out and take advantage of the happy hour prices.
6. Outdoor Cinema
Some outdoor cinemas are sponsored by companies who want to market their new products and therefore, the outdoor cinemas are usually free.
7. Picnic in a Park
Bring your picnic rugs, some food, and some lanterns to your favourite park and have a picnic there. Don’t forget to apply a mosquito repellant.
8. Bike Ride
A bike ride in the night is a lot of fun. Don’t forget to turn on both the front and rear lights.
9. Train/Bus Ride
Pick a suburb or town randomly and go there using public transport like train or bus. Pretend you’re a tourist who has just arrived. It’s a lot of fun!
10. Night in at a Friend’s House
Have a night in at a friend’s house, have a potluck dinner, play some board games or just chill and talk.
